His mother, Betty Sue Palmer was a waitress while his father John Christopher Depp Sr. was a public engineer. He has one brother, Danny and two sisters, Christie and Debbie. He has Irish and German roots.
Depp dropped out of school at age 15 in hopes of becoming a rock musician. When he was 12 years old he was gifted a guitar by his mother which he used to play in various garage bands.
Depp’s first big role was in the 1984 horror flick A Nightmare on Elm Street, playing the heroine’s boyfriend and one of Freddy Kreuger’s victims.
